The Perfect Aircraft for Your Extreme Adventure

Four-seat Robinson R44 RAVEN II helicopters are high performing, reliable, and easy to maintain.  R44's have a two-bladed rotor system, T-bar cyclic, and streamlined instrument panels.  An aluminum monocoque and powder-coated steel tube structure provides a lightweight, yet robust airframe while the aerodynamic fuselage optimizes airspeed and fuel economy.  Hydraulically boosted controls eliminate cyclic and collective feedback forces and provide responsive handling.  A low tail-rotor tip speed and large cambered tail reduce flyover noise. Raven II helicopters are powered by Lycoming’s IO-540 fuel injected engine.  The IO-540 delivers improved altitude performance and increased payload.

As a firm rule, Idaho Extreme Adventures does not fly in inclement weather.  This includes rain, wind in excess of 25 knots, reduced visibility less than 3 nautical miles and temperatures exceeding 100-degree Fahrenheit.  Any of these unsafe weather conditions may be cause for cancelation or rescheduling of your tour.

  • Are there weight restrictions to fly in the helicopter?

The maximum single passenger total weight including clothing, and equipment must not exceed 300 pounds per seat.  The combined weight of up to three total passengers must not exceed 560 pounds gross.

  • Can children fly in the helicopter?

The minimum age for a tour participant is 3 years old.  Participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

  • Can we take pictures or video from inside the helicopter?

Absolutely.  We encourage all participants to document their adventure and take as much footage as possible.  Make sure not to get stuck behind the lens and take time to experience the scenery for yourself.

  • Can we take pictures in front of or outside the helicopter?

Pictures and videos outside of the helicopter can always be taken from our helipad viewing area.  This area is behind a secure fence that keeps viewers at a safe distance.  In the event there is not another tour immediately departing, our pilot may allow closer exterior photos only when the helicopter is off and the rotors have completely stopped turning.

  • What kind of helicopter does Idaho Extreme Adventures Operate?

We operate a brand new 2023 Robinson R44 Raven II helicopter.  You will experience the latest in Robinson Helicopter comfort and safety with features like leather seats, air conditioning, Bose noise canceling headsets and outward looking bubble side windows.  Our helicopter is equipped with the most advanced safety equipment including ADS-B In and Out as well as Radar Altimeter.
